If you already own a domain which is registered with an external provider, you have two options for how to use the domain with your Create website.

You can leave the domain with the current provider and point the domain to Create, using the records generated in your Create account. Refer to this help guide for further instructions.

Alternatively, you can transfer the domain to Create, which means we will become the domain registrar and you will also gain access to our email forwarding service. If you would like to transfer the domain to us, the process will differ depending on the type of domain it is.

Please note, that if you are transferring a domain name to Create which has a custom domain email service associated with it, this will not transfer with the domain to Create and will no longer function. Please ask your Account Manager if you have any concerns about your email service before initiating a transfer.

Transferring .co.uk / .uk Domains to Create

If you own a .co.uk / .uk domain and would like to transfer the domain to Create, please contact your current domain provider and request for the IPS Tag to be changed to CREATE

Once the tag has been adjusted, please contact your Account Manager via the Support area in your account and let them know the name of the domain (for example domain.co.uk) and that you have requested for the IPS tag to be updated to CREATE. Your Account Manager will then be able to complete the transfer once the tag has been updated. There is no transfer fee for these domains from Create.

Transferring .com Domains to Create

For .com domain names, there is a £14.99 +VAT* charge for this, which is what we are charged by our registrar to transfer the domain name into our account, but during the process, your domain will have 1 year added to it's renewal period.

You also need to contact your current registrar to ask them to unlock the domain name and supply you with an Authorisation Code for the domain name. Once you have this, keep it secure as you will need to use it once the domain transfer process has been started.

Please contact your Account Manager via the Support area in your account and let them know the domain name (for example domain.com) and you would like to transfer the domain to Create.
